Jimmy Rotheram’s work developing the music programme at Feversham Primary Academy has attracted attention from across the globe, with visitors from around the world, from New Zealand to Canada. He has worked as a consultant and primary curriculum specialist for many organisations, including the Arts Council, Department for Education (Model Music Curriculum) and many music services.

In 2019 he was shortlisted for the Varkey Foundation’s $1m Global Teacher Prize. He sits on Education Advisory Boards for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), the Benedetti Foundation and Music Teacher Magazine. F

eversham has been recognised as an “Arts Rich School” by the Royal Society for the Arts, and was used in OFSTED’s curriculum research as well as being a case study school for the new National Plan for Music Education.

Jimmy writes regularly for Music Teacher, Teach Primary and Primary Music magazines, and his first book, Bloomsbury Curriculum Basics: Teaching Primary Music (with Andrew Davidson) will be published by Bloomsbury in 2022.

Jimmy is the Regional Coordinator for West Yorkshire.
