Training And Resources Our Courses Foundation Level Certificate Kodály Certificate Foundation Level CPD Certified Course Are you a Nursery or Primary teacher looking for practical ideas to support music teaching in your school? This CPD Accredited course is for you! NO PREVIOUS MUSICAL KNOWLEDGE IS REQUIRED! This course is aimed at those with little or no previous musical training OR those who are completely new to Kodály Inspired Music Education. You will go away equipped with ideas to use immediately in your teaching and receive an introduction to the Kodály Approach. By the end of the course, students will: ● Know and understand what is meant by Kodály-inspired music education● Know and understand the tools of Kodály-inspired musicianship● Be able to select effective and appropriate repertoire to foster children’s musical learning from a variety of song collections● Learn a bank of singing games chosen to support musical activity in Early Years and Primary School● Discover the holistic benefits of singing games on the broader curriculum – particularly literacy, numeracy and health and well-being● Have a secure knowledge of the essential building blocks of music education● Learn about sequential progression in rhythm and pitch skills, in relation to children’s musical learning● Be able to evaluate their own practice Full descriptions available by downloading BKA Foundation Certificate – Course Content Description (updated Oct 2025) To be awarded the accredited certificate the full course must be completed.
