Training And Resources Our Courses British Kodály Certificate Day 3: An Ode To Choirs And Accompanists This year at Summer School we are incredibly lucky to have two choir sessions each day. We start every morning with a warm up and choral singing led by Árpád Tóth. Even when we're not quite awake, it is still full of fun! This year we are working on 4 pieces, including "There Is No Rose" by Robin John King, "Amor Con Fortuna" by Juan del Enchina. Today, we started work on "Allala Pia Calia" by Orlando di Lasso. Enjoy the first few bars- this is the first sight read through! In the afternoon, after lessons, we congregate for Musical Theatre Choir with Allan Hubert-Wright. A hugely different style of singing is required, and it has been wonderful to tackle pieces such as "Tell Me It's Not True" from Blood Brothers, "One Day More" from Les Misérables, and Allan's own arrangement of "Dear Old Shiz" from Wicked: We cannot blog about our wonderful Choral Directors Allan and Árpád without paying homage to our accompanist, Dominic Harlan, and the many expressions we see as he plays. A true testament to just how music makes you move! Manage Cookie Preferences
